YOU CAN LOWER YOUR COST OF LIVING!
WITHOUT LOSING ANY TRANSIT SERVICES!

 VOTE NO ON PROP 1

Fact:

In 2026, the Spokane Transit Authority implemented a TEMPORARY TAX to fund 25 projects that are now complete.

Fact:

Despite project completion and a massive reserve of $274 million, STA never lowered your tax rate. And now they want you to keep paying.

Fact:

Families are struggling with rising costs for groceries, housing, insurance and utilities. They don’t need another tax!

Fact:

Spokane taxpayers can vote to end the tax by voting NO on the Spokane Transit Authority sales tax.

WITH A 'NO' VOTE, STA STILL KEEPS:

Permanent .6% sales tax. $3 billion over 20 years.

 $234 million in reserves.

Added over last 8 years per WA State Auditor reports.

 All current STA services*

*a NO vote cuts nothing STA riders rely on

THERE IS A TAX CUT ON YOUR BALLOT.  The Facts:

All projects are complete

Ballot language stated the tax would expire once it was no longer needed, but STA never stopped collecting it

STA’s financial reserves have grown by even more than the tax raised, proving the agency never need the additional tax revenue

Public trust matters. When voters approve a temporary tax, the government should honor the promise of the tax ending once projects are completed.

Taxpayers can vote to end the tax for special projects. Busses will remain fully funded if you reject the transit sales tax.
